Family Traditions.

Each family has its own traditions. They can not only depend on the country of residence, but also from a particular family. I can tell you about traditions in my family, because I am not sure that other families has the same tradition.

Every morning we have breakfast together, discuss our problems, or some important things to do. When everyone goes about their business, we do not see each other until the evening. But we often call each other at lunchtime. I always call my parents when I get home, so they were not worried and knew where I was. In the evening I cook dinner, my parents and sister ate well after a hard days work. It so happened that the train was almost always me, its a good idea I did it. During dinner, we discuss the previous day and prepare for the new. After the meal, we watch movies together or funny sitcoms.

But at the weekend we have much more time that we spend together. Every weekend we visit our grandparents, helping with the farm and talk with them. But the second grandparents from mother live in Minsk, so we visit them a little less often, but I priezdzhayu to them for a month every summer vacation.

And of course, every holiday, such as New Year or Birthday, were going together. Our family decided to give gifts for the holidays. It does not have to be expensive, the important thing is, it could be any trinket - the main focus.

Но зато мы часто звоним друг другу в обеденный перерыв. Я всегда звоню своим родителям, когда прихожу домой, чтобы они не волновались и знали где я. Вечером я готовлю ужин, чтобы мои родители и сестра поели хорошо после тяжелого рабочего дня. Так получилось, что готовить стала почти всегда я, это неплохо у меня получается. За ужином мы обсуждаем прошедший день и готовимся к новому. После еды мы вместе смотрим фильмы или смешные сериалы.

Но в выходные у нас гораздо больше времени, которое мы и проводим все вместе. Каждые выходные мы навещаем наших бабушку и дедушку, помогаем с хозяйством, разговариваем с ними. Но вторые бабушка и дедушка со стороны матери живут в Минске, поэтому мы навещаем их немного реже, однако я приезжаю к ним на месяц каждые летние каникулы.

И, конечно, каждый праздник, такой как Новый Год или День Рождения, мы собираемся вместе. В нашей семье принято дарить подарки на праздники. Это не обязательно должна быть дорогая, важная вещь, это может быть любая безделушка - главное внимание.

Еще каждое лето мы ездим куда-нибудь все вместе. Это может быть просто выезд на природу, ловля рыбы или большая поездка заграницу, не важно! Для нашей семьи главное то, что мы вместе.

Возможно, традиции в моей семье не сильно отличаются от традиций других семей, но лично я полностью согласна с нашими традициями и собираюсь перенести их в мою семью, когда вырасту.

It goes without saying that the family is very important as a unit in our society. Nothing else but family can be an emotional centre of people"s lives and a transmitter of culture. Understanding between all members of the family and consideration for others are very important in family relationships. Tenderness, warm-heartedness and respect must always be present in the family to make it friendly. I do think family traditions help its members respect and support one another.

A lot of activities can help members of a family to be on friendly terms: discussing all the family plans, going on trips together, visiting museums, theatres, exhibitions and exchanging opinions about them, sharing joys and sorrows.

If to speak about my family, I can say I enjoy our honest and open relationship. I like it when parents trust their children, give them freedom, rely on them and respect them. In my opinion these things make family relations warm and pleasant.

Unfortunately, we can"t spend much time together during a week. My parents have to work a lot to earn money for our family. But in the evening they try to spend as much time as possible with my sister and me. Everybody in our family likes having tea when we can speak about our working day, share impressions and good news, discuss our challenges and make plans for the coming day. It"s one of our family traditions. To my mind, it helps us learn more about one another and makes our family united.

Every member of our family looks forward to the weekend. We enjoy going to the cinema and cafes together. In winter we often ski and skate. In other seasons we enjoy riding bikes, going to theme parks or visiting famous sights of our country. We visit our extended family and often help them in the garden. It"s also our family tradition to spend summer holidays together either at the seaside or in the country, which I enjoy very much.

We have other family traditions. Our family see the New Year at home. We cook a lot of delicious food for the night meal which usually starts at 10 p.m. A goose or chicken stuffed with apples is our traditional New Year dish. We sing songs, play games and give presents to one another.

We have a family tradition to celebrate birthdays of each member of the family. On these days we usually have parties. Friends and relatives come with presents and flowers. Our last family birthday was mother"s birthday. We wanted to make it a special day since it was her 38th birthday. We had selected a nice present for her and my father and I had done all the cooking. The table was nicely laid up. The party was fantastic. All the guests seemed to enjoy themselves a lot.

As you can see, consideration for others is very important in our family relationships. We have our family traditions which make our life more exciting and interesting, help to understand one another better, to express our emotions and feelings. Our parents feel great affection for us and try to bring us up in a proper way. They devote their free time to us and this makes our home the happiest place for me.

Не зря говорят: «Как встретишь Новый год, так его и проживёшь». Праздник Нового года – самый яркий праздник в нашей семье. Готовиться к празднику мы начинаем заранее. Мы, дети, пишем письма-пожелания Деду Морозу, а потом с мамой придумываем сценарий праздника, разучиваем стихи. Когда папа приносит домой пушистую ёлку, пахнущую хвоей, и ставит её по среди комнаты, мы дружно начинаем её украшать. И вот наступает вечер 31 декабря. Уже накрыт праздничный стол, все одеты нарядно и красиво. И вдруг на улице раздаётся звон колокольчиков. Мы, как завороженные, ждём чуда. И чудо происходит! В комнату входят Дед Мороз с большим мешком подарков и Снегурочка. Начинается настоящее веселье. Мы читаем стихи, с родителями водим хоровод, поём песни и играем, а Дедушка Мороз и Снегурочка вручают нам подарки. И пусть под маской Деда Мороза мы видим такие знакомые, родные глаза, всё равно мы верим маминому рассказу о том, что настоящий Дед Мороз поручил нашему дедушке раздать нам подарки, потому что он сам не успевает прийти ко всем детям. Наш веселый праздник продолжается весь вечер, а потом мы целый год с нетерпением опять ждём наступления Нового года… А ещё есть самая дорогая для меня традиция. Наступает вечер, все дела сделаны. Я подхожу к своей кровати, ложусь и, глядя на огонек ночника, жду маму. Вот она садится на краешек кровати, берет в свою руку мою, нежно гладит меня, потом целует, и я слышу самые дорогие слова: «Спокойной ночи, моя любимая доченька!» И сны мои текут спокойно…Может быть, кому-то эти традиции покажутся не такими уж яркими, но зато они наши, собственные, и дороже их для нас нет ничего на свете.Благодаря традициям, существующим в нашей семье, мы учимся любить, уважать, доверять, ценить минуты общения с родными людьми, помогать друг другу. A happy and harmonious family is based on strong family traditions. There are a few traditions in my family which I would like to tell about.

Summer holidays

Every summer we all go on a camping trip. For a few days we stay in a cottage on a lakeside. We swim in the lake and lie in the sun, sometimes we go to the nearest village for a day out.

Every day we build a fire and cook food on it. This is the process that unites the whole family. Somemake a fire, others cut vegetables and cook. This is the moment when we don’t stop talking to each other and laughing at jokes.

Grandmother’s birthday

Fortunately, my grandmother lives not too far from us so we often go to visit her. But her birthday is a special day which everyone looks forward to.

This is the day when all the relatives come to her place to celebrate. My family is very big. I have uncles, aunts and cousins. My grandmother’s birthday is the day when we all sit around one big table.

Personal achievements

We always support and help each other in different life situations. This builds the confidence and helps become successful. This is why personal achievements of each of us are the reason for everyone’s joy.

Such events as promotion, admission to the university or victory in a competition are celebrated in my family. Usually on this day we go to a restaurant and spend the rest of the day together.

New Year

New Year is a family holiday. Traditionally, we stay at home on this day. In the evening we sit at the table and remember everything that happened to us throughout the year. After dinner we usually leave to meet our friends at the New Year’s tree in the city centre.

В этот день все родственники собираются в ее доме. У нас очень большая семья. У меня есть дяди, тети, двоюродные братья и сестры. День рождения бабушки – день, когда все мы собираемся за одним большим столом.

Личные достижения

Мы всегда помогаем и поддерживаем друг друга в разных жизненных ситуациях. Это помогает стать уверенным и успешным. Именно поэтому личные достижения каждого – это повод для всеобщей радости.

Такие события, как повышение по службе, поступление в университет или победа на соревнованиях, становятся поводом для праздника в моей семье. В этот день мы обычно всей семьей отправляемся в ресторан и остаток дня проводим вместе.

Новый год

Новый год – это семейный праздник. По традиции мы проводим этот день дома. Вечером мы садимся за стол и вспоминаем о том, что произошло в ушедшем году. После ужина мы встречаемся с нашими друзьями на новогодней елке в центре города.
